NYFE Summary

German immigrant families founded the parish, which later served successive immigrant communities. The building combines broad areas of yellow brick with concentrated white decoration. Its entrance draws on church forms found in Spain, Mexico and the American Southwest.

Projecting columns, twisted shafts and sculpted panels crowd around the main doors. Decorated towers rise on either side, while a dome covers the crossing farther back. The side entrance repeats the main front’s arrangement on a smaller scale.
