NYFE Summary

The parish began when Harlem was still a largely rural settlement. As immigration and local building increased, it replaced its earlier church with a larger one. The congregation later developed Spanish-language worship as the neighborhood changed.

Five round-arched portals line the street front beneath broad windows and matching corner towers. Steel and concrete inside the structure made room for the large stained-glass windows.
