NYFE Summary

Artists and local residents worked with sculptor Mark di Suvero to reclaim an abandoned landfill in 1986. The waterfront site became a public park, outdoor studio and exhibition space. Artists make large works here with materials, equipment and support provided by the organization.

The exhibitions change rather than forming a permanent sculpture collection. Visitors can walk the grounds and see new work, or join a scheduled arts or community program. Admission is free. The outdoor galleries are joined by the Cubes, a building made from shipping containers for education and community programs.
