NYFE Summary

A group of young naturalists began collecting evidence of Staten Island's wildlife and landscape. Their work grew into a museum that brings natural science, art and local history together. Specimens and records preserve evidence of plants, animals and people as the island changed.

The collections range from natural specimens and historical documents to painting and design. Changing exhibitions draw connections among these subjects. Museum records are also available online, including archival maps and images from the botany collection.
