NYFE Summary

Working-class and immigrant groups rented the hall for meetings, weddings and dances. Labor and political organizations gathered here. In the early twentieth century, its costume balls also became a place where gay and lesbian New Yorkers could meet.

Red brick and terra cotta cover the street front. Carved heads, leaves and other molded details distinguish the older hall from its later annex.
